After three failed attempts, finally found a workshop that actually fixed my suspension
I honestly can’t believe how much time and money I wasted before finding somewhere competent to work on my BMW X5’s air suspension. The saga started about four months ago when I noticed the rear end sagging overnight – took it to a garage near my office in Business Bay, they charged me for a “full diagnostic” and told me I needed a new compressor. Paid nearly 3,000 AED, they swapped it out, and the problem came back within two weeks. Went to another place in Al Quoz that a friend recommended, they said it was the air springs, replaced both of them, and same thing happened again after about a month. By this point I was absolutely fuming and honestly considering just trading the car in and being done with it. A colleague at work who’d had similar issues with his Q7 told me about a place that he swore by, and I figured I’d give it one last shot before giving up entirely. I’m so glad I did because they actually found the real issue – a tiny hairline crack in one of the plastic airline fittings that was leaking air intermittently, which is why the other garages kept missing it. They replaced the fitting, did a proper leak test, and the car has been absolutely fine for the past three months. I’m posting this because I know there must be other people out there going through the same frustration I did, and I want to save someone else the headache of dealing with garages that just guess and hope for the best.
